"An interior
should be a reflection of the people who
live in it. It should never be only
the stamp of a decorator."
Oscar De la Renta
GraceAnn Simoni believes
wholeheartedly in creating living spaces that reflect the
people who live there. This commitment to good design
and functionality traces all the way back to her childhood,
where GraceAnn learned a “let’s use what we have” design
aesthetic from her mother (a single mom) that made their
small apartments beautiful.
Later, inspired by many moves—and
subsequent redecorating of houses—she opened her own
successful wallpaper-hanging business. Seventeen years of
business took her into hundreds of homes where she was able
to observe firsthand what made rooms beautiful and
functional. Finding herself helping her clients with
furniture and art placement, GraceAnn made what she
describes as the “happiest” decision in her career, to move
from wallpaper to redesign.
Professionally trained in redesign and
home staging, GraceAnn has redesigned homes all over the
Chicago region building an impressive client list and
portfolio. Her redesigns make her customers smile (and
sometimes shed tears of joy) when their treasured
possessions come to life in a whole new way. She also enjoys
teaching others the art of redesign through
workshops,
lectures, and
courses.
Her award-winning work has been
featured on television (Home Improvement with Janet Davies
on ABC 7, Chicago), and in the press including the Chicago
Tribune. Her “Day of Beauty for Your HomeTM”
has also been featured in conjunction with BRAVO’s Queer
Eye for the Straight Guy. She is a founding member of
the
Midwest Redesign
& Staging Association (MRSA), and owner of the
Midwest Staging Redesign Institute. She also serves on the
Board of Directors for
IRIS,
the nation's largest Interior Redesign and Home Staging
Professional Association and serves on the Board of the
MRSA.
