I have an
“eye” for what looks good; do I need
professional training?
Absolutely! You may know
what you like and what looks good together,
but a course in Interior Redesign will give
you the right process and the basic design
principles to follow in order to transform
any type of room into the most beautiful space it can be.
If I just want to do redesign
for family, friends and myself, is this
program for me?
Whether
redesigning for yourself or others as a
professional, MSRI training gives you
valuable skills and knowledge which will allow
you to be the best at what you do.
I’ve already
taken design class(s); will I still learn
anything?
Again,
absolutely! Design and Redesign, although
similar in their mission to make interiors
beautiful and interesting, are still very different. Redesign
teaches the “use-what-you- have” mentality
and the proven process of Interior Redesign
to produce the desired result.
Will I be
able to join professional organizations
after taking MSRI training?
Yes, you will be eligible to
join both
IRIS (Interior Redesign Industry
Specialists) and the
MRSA (Midwest Redesign & Staging
Association). At this time, only IRIS
requires you past an exam to be eligible to
join. Once you have completed the five
day course and the IRIS exam, you may apply
to become an Interior Redesign Specialist.
I’ve never
owned a business; will the MSRI training
help me start one?
MSRI gives a plethora of
information on business as well as the forms
and basics needed to help start your own business.
Information regarding marketing, business,
contacts, and free advertising are just some
of the subjects covered in the business
section. You are free to use any and all
forms used by MSRI in their business at no
extra charge! This gives you a “quick
start” on getting your business up and
running.
When
the course is over, will MSRI still be a resource
for furthering mentoring?
We believe
that “once our student, always our
student”. The MSRI will always keep you
updated on Professional Organizations and
affiliations that will help build and
support your business as well as the
Redesign & Staging Industry. MSRI alumni also receive
the benefit of ongoing information, industry
news and ideas to keep their business fresh
and exciting. The MSRI wants each and every
student to reach their highest potential and
be successful, whatever that means to each
individual and their business.
What criteria
were met to become an IRIS approved
Instructor?
IRIS approved instructors must
be an active member of IRIS for at least 2
years. Submit information, references, and
pictures for 20 clients to IRIS for an extensive
review by the approval committee; undergo a
rigorous evaluation of their materials
adhering to a strict set of standards and
evaluation of their training style; answer a
thorough list of questions to prove their
knowledge of the Redesign industry.
After a
60-day review of all submitted information,
it is then decided if the individual has the
knowledge, talent, and ability to be an
approved Instructor.
How
long is the course and are meals
included?
The Redesign course is 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday
through Friday and breakfast, lunch, snacks
and one dinner during the course are included.
The Real Estate Staging course is 8:30am -
4:30pm for three days and breakfast, lunch,
snacks and one dinner during the course is
also included.
What should I
wear?
It’s best to wear casual,
comfortable clothes (no belts) as we will
be in homes moving furniture. You must
bring a clean pair of gym shoes to wear while in the
client’s home. Any jewelry worn on
your hands & wrists could become a
safety issue as well as the potential to
scratch furniture. We suggest you leave
jewelry at home, earrings are okay.
Why should I
take the Midwest Staging Redesign Institute's
training program?
Taking the MSRI training
program is a cost effective way to invest in
your future. With the in-depth, hands-on
training program and on-going support from
your IRIS approved trainer; the MSRI
course is by far the best educational choice
in the exciting world of Interior Redesign
and Real Estate Staging. Not only is the
course focused on giving you individualized
attention, but it takes it far beyond that.
You will walk away with a complete sense of
the industry and the tools and resources and
confidence to start your own career as a
Qualified Redesign Specialist or Qualified
Staging Professional. This nominal investment can
turn into a rewarding and fulfilling career.
